                Looking forward to some great fishing

Sturgeon fishing on the bays

  Spring Time is Sturgeon season in these parts. Depending on rain fall, stugeon can be found up in the deep channels of Susuin Bay.....Or, in the shallow flats of San Pablo Bay.  The winter weather cools off all the bay and river water. And muddy murky water is what really turn the fish on. Sturgeon love to prowl and feed in the muddy winter and spring run off. We've located our boat between both bays. So its much easier to track the fish and stay close to either run.

We're just a little Different

We are now fishing for very large fish. And typically that style fishing means extra heavy tackle and rods. The waters we fish are different. Although we are set up for either, we favor fishing shallow bays. So we do most of our angling in the very shallow water of San Pablo and Susuin bay. This means the fish are a little more sensitive , and we do best using lighter gear. What it means for anglers is some great battles with fish and a dual chance to catch either a Sturgeon, or a large Striper. There is nothing more exciting than battling a big fish that charges across the flats. Big fish or small its a very memorable experience.

Stripers

Striped Bass.....The winter months are a great time to fish for bass. Normally they wait and feed in warmer waters of San Pablo Bay. And the action can be wild. We use the same baits as Sturgeon...and some additional baits when we start to target the larger bass. And most often we favor light tackle to match the fish.  The runs come and go, so we usually combine the sturgeon trips with some bass fishing ...its our most popular combo trip.

Fishing ........   Fishing is best when you get alot of bites.

Stugeon fishing can be a challenge to many anglers. We know very few folks that dont like tangling with a giant fish....However, we do know quite a few that have a hard time staring at a rod tip waiting and waiting. So we try to combine the days action, We never give up on a giant fish, but we wont waste a day waiting for bites......Its all about the bites.

 This year we will be specializing with small group fishing trips  from 6 to 10 anglers .....if you have a smaller group and want the pleasure of a whole boat for just your party...we're perfect!
